Hi guys. My name is Alfie. Don't let my smile fool you. I had a family. The day before Thanksgiving we were moving. I couldn't wait to see where we were going. I was all excited the day of the move. My family loaded up the U-Haul while I was outside playing. I couldn't wait for our car ride....I love car rides.

I was a little confused when my daddy called me back into the apartment. I couldn't understand why they got in the vehicle without me. I really thought they were coming back for me. I saw the lights of the U-Haul drive away, while I barked as loud as I could so they wouldn't forget me.

I cried myself to sleep. When I heard the key in the door I jumped up excited to see my family.....but it wasn't them. It was our nice apartment manager. She told me she was taking me to her home. At first I thought she was mad at me, until I heard her telling the lady on the phone that the neighbors saw my family leave me behind. She explained I was going to a rescue.

When I got there, they promised me I would never be left behind again. They told me I was going to get a family that would love me unconditionally and make me a real member of the family that would never be abandoned again.
