My name is Samuel and I was a street dog that finally got a safe place to rest my head. For the first time in a long time I got a bath and a grooming. The grooming was pretty traumatic for me, because I was severely matted and they had to use something called a surgical blade to strip my hair. It really hurt because I had infected hot spots and lesions under the hair. My tail was the worst. They were nice enough to get the vet to put me to sleep when they realized how bad I hurt. I tried to be brave, but even while I was asleep I was crying horribly from the pain. Everyone was crying for me. I tried to tell them it was okay. I kept giving them kisses and never once tried to bite the nice ladies. I knew they were helping me. I was so matted, the last 4 inches of my tail were really just matted hair over an inch thick. The girls were really mad when they found out I had heartworms too at my young age. They said whoever dumped me was a really bad person. But they promised me they would give me medicine so I will get rid of those heartworm things and find me a home that will love me and keep me pretty. I hope I never have those nasty knots in my hair again. They hurt to much. I am pretty much housebroke, mainly cause I was used to being outside. Can I live with you? MONTHLY HEARTWORM MEDICATION WILL ALSO BE PROVIDED. WE WILL RETEST FOR HEARTWORMS IN 1 YEAR AT A DOGGIE 4 YOU'S EXPENSE. Doggie 4 You is a non-profit organization. We are one of the rescues that accept dogs that are injured or in need of medical treatment. Our standard adoption fee is $150, purebred, designer and heartworm positive dogs are priced higher. The additional charge helps pay for the dogs needing medical care that are less adoptable.
