Boxer (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Young : : Large
I am a Purebred Boxer named Chloe and available for adoption now. I know how to heel, sit, down, and stay. I am house trained, crate trained and happy in the car. I also like playing with my toys. I am a very quiet girl and I never jump up on people.. Like many Boxers, I love to be in the same room as my owner(s) and I will be your "shadow"! Although I am still a little shy around men, I am quickly learning most people are great. My purebred adoption fee of $300 includes spay, microchip, current shots, and confirmation that I am heartworm negative. I would be very happy in a home with or without other dogs. I just love being around my people and I patiently wait for them when they are gone. Here's my story: I am an English Boxer that was purchased for breeding by a jerk in the valley. It's bad enough that I spent my first two years chained in the guys back yard, but he wouldn't even let me take good care of my puppies. Del Rio Animal control was notified several times about my terrible surroundings, but they never came to help me. In December of 2012, I had a litter of 11 puppies, that my jerk put in a wire cage. I was only allowed to nurse my babies twice a day. Unfortunately my little angels started getting sick. Seven died before a nice neighbor called A Pet's Wish and let them know what was happening. They put pressure on animal control and I was taken to the pound where they were going to euthanize me. They pulled one of my boy puppies away and I really don't know what happened to him. By that time, I didn't care anymore. I was totally broken. Lucky for me, A Pet's Wish called A Doggie 4 You and they rescued me. I didn't know what was happening. My last three puppies and I were transported in the middle of the night to my new foster home. Now I am a happy quiet Boxer waiting for my forever home. See our contact information below and email us if you are interested in providing a forever home! We will email an application/questionnaire to you. A home visit will be required on Chloe to help her get used to her new surroundings. Thank You! A Doggie 4 You is a non-profit organization. We are one of the only rescues that accept dogs that are injured or in need of medical treatment. Our standard adoption fee is $150, or $300 for a purebred or highly adoptable dog. All monies go towards the care and placement of the dogs. We use the higher adoption fees on the highly adoptable dogs to help offset the medical and surgical costs on the less desirable dogs.
